Let's talk a little bit about the materials used for our sandals...

Quite simply, we use leather and vegetable-tanned leather, both for women’s sandals and for men’s sandals.
For us, this might be enough to explain the characteristic of our sandals compared to many others found on the market, but let’s try to elaborate a bit to explain why we make this choice and then go into more detail.

Leather: The heart of the sandalwood

Leather is the undisputed star of our sandal. It is the material that makes it soft, durable and breathable. We choose high quality leathers from artisan tanneries that use traditional techniques such as vegetable tanning. Each type of leather has unique characteristics: cowhide is strong and durable, calf leather is softer and more flexible, and sheep or goat leather is lighter and more breathable. The choice of leather depends on the sandal model and the customer’s needs. Leather processing is an art that requires experience and craftsmanship, and we are committed to selecting only the best leathers to ensure the highest quality of our products.

Leather is the material that makes up the sole of our sandal. It is a natural material, resistant to wear and abrasion. We choose high quality leather from vegetable tanning that respects the environment and human health. The leather is carefully processed to make it flexible and comfortable, and to ensure a perfect grip on the ground. The choice of leather depends on the type of sole and style of sandal. Thicker, denser leather is ideal for sturdier soles, while thinner, lighter leather is perfect for more elegant soles.

Glue is the invisible bridge that joins the different parts of the sandal, creating a strong and durable bond. The choice of glue is critical to ensure the strength and flexibility of the finished product. We use specific glues for leather, selected for their ability to adhere perfectly to different types of material and for their resistance to water and wear. The application of glue requires great precision and experience, as an excess could compromise the aesthetics of the sandal, while an insufficient amount could compromise its strength.

Colors: A touch of personality

Colors are the element that makes each of our sandals unique. We use natural dyes and anilines to dye leathers and leathers, resulting in bright, long-lasting colors. The choice of colors is wide and varied, and can be customized to the customer’s taste. Colors can be combined with each other to create original and unique contrasts.

Time is a key element in the production of a handcrafted sandal. Each stage of the process requires time and patience: from the choice of materials to design, from leather processing to stitching, from finishing to packaging. Time is needed to ensure the quality of the product and to achieve a perfect result. A handcrafted sandal is a unique product, handmade with care and passion, and the time we spend on it is an investment in quality and customer satisfaction.

For our production, we use high-grade materials, genuine Italian leather and genuine vegetable-tanned leather.

For environmental sustainability to be not only in the use of vegetable-tanned leather and leather, materials currently on the market with the least polluting impact, but to expand it to new projects as well.
